Dr. Jose M. Navarro sen.

Dr. Navarro received his MD degree at the University of Zaragoza in 1975. In 1979, He earned his DMD degree at the University of Barcelona and completed his PhD at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1999. Having trained in both oral surgery and prosthodontics, he has been involved in surgical and restorative Implant Dentistry since 1981. Currently, he is the director of the Brånemark Osseointegration Center in Las Palmas, Spain. He has authored and co-authored several publications and book chapters in the field of implant dentistry, and has lectured nationally and internationally for the past 20 years on this field. He is visiting professor at the University of Barcelona, where he collaborates at the postgraduate Masters Program in Oral Surgery and Implantology and is also visiting professor of postgradute implant dentistry at the European University of Madrid (UEM).

Born in 1949 in Vlotho/Germany. 1970 to 1976 dental studies at Mainz University. 1979 to 1984 medical studies at Hannover University. Trainee in oral and maxillofacial surgery and senior staff at the Department of Oral & Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery at Hannover University Medical School. 1990 PhD, 1994 Associate Professor. Since 1995 Chairman and Head at the the Department of Oral & Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery at Erlangen-Nuremberg University Dental School.

Since September 2000 member to EAO Board. Acting EAO President (2006-2008). Since 2001 Editor-in-Chief of Deutsche Zeitschrift für Mund-Kiefer-Gesichtschirurgie. Since October 2003 Editorial Board Member to the Journal "Oral Science International". Professional work is focused on cleft lip and palate, orthodontic surgery, tumour surgery, implantology, bone grafts in combination with implants.

Prof. Dr. Myron Nevins

Myron Nevins, DDS, editor of The International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry, is program director of the Department of Continuing Education and associate clinical professor of periodontology at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He is director of the Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, former director and chairman of the American Board of Periodontology, and a past president of the American Academy of Periodontology. An adjunct professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Dr Nevins maintains a private practice limited to periodontics in Swampscott, Massachusetts.

Director of the Clinic for Geriatric and Special Care Dentistry of the University of Zurich, Switzerland
Head of the section of Gerodontology at the University of Leipzig, Germany

Dr Nitschke graduated both, as dental technician and dentist, the latter at the Free University of Berlin. Subsequently she worked in private practice as assistant dentist. In 1984 she received her doctorate degree and worked at the Free University of Berlin, followed by the Humboldt University in Berlin and the University of Leipzig, Germany. Here she founded in 1999 the section for gerodontology and established a dental curriculum for undergraduate students. In 2004 she received a "Master of Public Health" diploma from the Free University of Berlin and in 2005 her "Habilitation" (PD) from the University of Leipzig. In 2006 she additionally became Director of the Clinic for Geriatric and Special Care Dentistry at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Dr Nitschke is founding member and currently President of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Alterszahnmedizin e.V. (former Arbeitskreis für Gerostomatologie e.V.). Since 1998 she is further board member of the European College of Gerodontology. Her work areas cover gerodontology, special care and prosthetic dentistry as well as public health.
