Prof. Dr. Hannes Wachtel

Dr. Hannes Wachtel received his dental degree in 1982 at the University of Tübingen, Germany. In 1982/83 he followed the Postgraduate Program in Prosthodontics at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He served as Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontology at the Free University of Berlin for ten years and obtained his Ph.D. in 1993. Since 1994 he maintains a private clinic in Munich devoted to periodontology, implantology and restorative dentistry and established with his partners Bolz, Hürzeler, Zuhr the Institute for Periodontology and Implantology, IPI, Munich. He is in the editorial board of several journals and lectures extensively nationally and internationally in the fields of periodontics, plastic periodontal surgery, implantology and aesthetics He is author and co-author of over 80 scientific articles and book chapters. Currently he is Professor at the University of Berlin, Medicine Charité. Since 1998 he is board member of the German Society of Periodontology (DGP) and Specialist (Diplomate) of the DGP. Since 2005 he holds a faculty position as clinical professor in the Postgraduate Program of the Department of Periodontology, University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

Prof. Dr. Heiner Weber

Dr. Dietmar Weng

Dr. Dietmar Weng graduated from the University of Marburg in 1993, and spent afterwards 3 years as Assistant Professor at the University of Freiburg, Department of Prosthodontics. From 1996 to 1998 he worked as Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Houston, Department of Endodontics and Periodontics, and did extensive research on dental implants and regenerative materials. From 1999 to 2004 he was Associate Professor at the University of Würzburg, Department of Prosthodontics. Apart from conventional fixed prosthodontics and esthetic rehabilitations, his main focus lies on surgical and prosthetic aspects of prosthetically driven implantology and soft tissue management on which he has lectured and published nationally and internationally. Dr. Weng is member of several scientific societies and serves on the editorial board of the Quintessence journal "Implantologie". Since 2004 he has practiced in a private office in Starnberg, Germany, specializing in implant dentistry and periodontics.

Dr. Klaus J. Wiedhahn

Prof. Dr. Nairn Wilson

Nairn Wilson, the Immediate-past President of the General Dental Council, is Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Dean and Head of the King’s College London Dental Institute. His many positions include Chairman of the Joint Committee for Specialist Training in Dentistry, Editor in Chief of the Quintessentials of Dental Practice Series, Chairman of the British Dental Editors Forum and Chairman and Honorary Director of the Oral and Dental Research Trust.

His interests and special expertise encompass the regulation of dentistry, trends in dental education, tooth-coloured restorative systems, applied dental materials science, clinical trial methodology, and the modern management of caries.

Prof. Dr. Nairn Wilson

ZTM Siegbert Witkowski

Mr. Siegbert Witkowski earned his diploma in Dental Technology from an apprenticeship program in Hannover, Germany. He did postgraduate studies and gained work experience at the following institutions: University of London, Royal Dental Hospital, Chairman: R. J. Nairn, F.D.S., M.Sc. (1983-1984); University of Zürich, School of Dentistry, Chairman: Prof. Dr. P. Schärer, M.S. (1984-1986); University of Southern California, School of Dentistry, Chairman: Dr. J. D. Preston (1986-1988). Mr. Witkowski became Certified by the National Board of Certification of Dental Laboratory Technology, USA, in 1986 (CDT).

Since 1988, he has been working as the Chief Dental Technician in the Department of Prosthodontics, University of Freiburg, School of Dentistry, Chairman: Prof. Dr. J. R. Strub. In 1991, at the age of 30 years, he earned the diploma of the German Master Dental Technician. Mr. Witkowski was co-editor of the German Journals "Implantologie" [Implantology] (1993-2000) and "Quintessenz der Zahntechnik" [Quintessence Dental Technology] (1997-2000) by Quintessence, Berlin. He has co-authored an textbook for dental students (1. ed 1994, 2. ed 1999, 3. ed 2004), a book on implant prosthodontics (1996) published by Quintessence and numerous articles. He is Past Secretary of the German Society of Esthetic Dentistry and a member of several national and international organizations. In 2001 he was Editorial Chairman of the "Das internationale Zahntechnik Magazin" [The International Dental Technology Magazine] published by Flohr Verlag, Rottweil. He was a member (2000-2001) of the committee to set up the first program with a engineering degree (Dipl. Ing.) for Dental Technology in Germany. In 2003 he was appointed to the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the "Quintessenz der Zahntechnik" [Quintessence Dental Technology] by Quintessence, Berlin. He is a member of the expert panel of the German Lab Owner society. He has organized numerous conferences and seminars as scientific head and lecturer.

Mr. Witkowski is a consultant to several manufacturers. His main interests are the esthetics of fixed and removable restorations, new crown systems, CAD/CAM- and Rapid Prototyping-Technology.

ZTM Siegbert Witkowski

Prof. Dr. Andrzej Wojtowicz

Prof. Andrzej Wojtowicz, professor of Medical University of Warsaw received his DDS degree from the Medical Univ. of Warsaw and his DDPh and MSc.D degrees in osteology from The Centre of Biostructure Research and the Institute of Dentistry, Med. Univ. Warsaw. He was ass. Professor at the Dept. of Transplantology. From 1997 he is head of Dept. of Oral Surgery, Med. Univ. Warsaw. His main scholarship exchanges: Universite de Orleans, CNRS, France, University of North Carolina, Dental School, Chapel Hill.

Current research interest of Prof.A.Wojtowicz include:
1. basic research of the embryology of oral tissues and experimental bone induction,
2. bone augmentation in dento-alveolar surgery,
3. bone/oral health in organ transplant recipients,
4. Application of PRP and stem cells in implantology and preprosthetic surgery,
5. Implant therapy.

Dr A. Wojtowicz was a member of EATB (European Association of Tissue Banks); he was a member of the board of IADR-CED, member of ITI, and at local level he is a member of the Polish Dental Association (PTS), president of Polish Association of Implantology (OSIS), president of Polish Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, member of EAO, co-chairman of EAO Congress in Warsaw 2008. He has published more than 150 papers in local and international scientific journals. He was invited speaker in University of North Carolina at the Chapel Hill and in FDI Congress in Vienna 2002. He is a editor in chief of Implants Journal and editorial board member of Implantoprosthodontic Journal, Modern Dentistry and other polish dental journals.
