Dr. Daniel Laskin
Dr. Laskin received his D.D.S. degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry and his Master of Science degree from the University of Illinois. He was formerly Professor and Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the College of Dentistry (1973-1983), Clinical Professor of Surgery in the College of Medicine (1961-83), and Director of the Temporomandibular Joint and Facial Pain Research Center (1963-83) at the University of Illinois Professional Colleges. He currently holds the rank of Professor Emeritus. From 1984 until 2002 he was Professor and Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the School of Dentistry and Chairman of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the School of Medicine at Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University. He was also Director of the Temporomandibular Joint and Facial Pain Research. Since 2003 he has remained in the department as Professor and Chairman Emeritus.
Dr. Laskin is Past-President of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from 1972-2002. He is Past-President and former Secretary-General of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and also served as the Executive Director of that organization. He has also been President of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, Sigma Xi and a Fellow of both the American and International College of Dentists. He is also an honorary Fellow in Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. His other honors include an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Indiana University, the Distinguished Service Award from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Distinguished Alumni Service Award from Indiana University, the University of Illinois Alumni Achievement Award, the William J. Gies Oral Surgery Award, the Heidbrink Award, the Donald B. Osbon Award for Outstanding Educator, and the Virginia Commonwealth University Award of Excellence.
Dr. Laskin has made over 900 contributions to the literature in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery and in dental research, including 16 books on the various aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including the temporomandibular joint. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for 30 years. He is the recipient of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Research Recognition Award and the W. Harry Archer Achievement Award for his studies on the temporomandibular joint, and in 1993 he received the Norton M. Ross Award for Excellence in Clinical Research from the American Dental Association.

Dr. Lutz Laurisch
Examen und Promotion 1975 in Düsseldorf. Seit 1977 in eigener Praxis in Korschenbroich tätig, seit 2000 in Sozietät mit Dr. Elfi Laurisch. Behandlungsschwerpunkt ist die orale Rehabilitation des Patienten durch eine umfassende präventiv orientierte Zahnheilkunde. Ab 1981 Entwicklung eines in den Praxisalltag integrierten Prophylaxekonzeptes, seit 1986 unter Einbeziehung von Speicheluntersuchungen. Zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen und Vorträge zu diesem Thema auf Tagungen und in Fachzeitschriften. 1988 Veröffentlichung zur Diagnostik des individuellen Kariesrisikos unter Einbeziehung von mikrobiologischen Speicheluntersuchungen. 1989 Entwicklung eines einfachen Bakteriennachweiseverfahrens kariesrelevanter Keime.
Seit 1988 umfangreiche Praxiskurse für Zahnärzte und Helferinnen im Rahmen der "Prophylaxekurse in Korschenbroich" zur Diagnostik und Therapie der individuellen Kariesgefährdung sowie zum präventiven Praxiskonzept. Umfangreiche Kurstätigkeit an Fortbildungsinstituten der Zahnärztekammern der Länder.
1993 Veröffentlichung eines Konzeptes zur systematischen Prävention der Fissurenkaries unter Einbeziehung chlorhexidinhaltiger Lacke. 1997 Entwicklung eines neuen Selektivmediums für Streptococcus mutans und Entwicklung des CRT-Speicheltestverfahrens (Fa.IvoclarVivadent) zum Nachweis kariesrelevanter Keime. 1989 bis 1998 stellvertr. Vorsitzender der Gesellschaft für Kinderzahnheilkunde und Primärprophylaxe in der DGZMK.
Stellvertretender Vorsitzender der Koordinierungsstelle für Prophylaxe in der DGZMK und Vorstandsmitglied der DGZMK. Mitglied des Scientific Board der International Health Care Foundation (IHCF), sowie der Pierre Fouchard Academy (FPFA), sowie Mitglied der ORCA (Senior Membership). Dr. Laurisch erhielt den Wrigley-Prophylaxe-Preis 2002 für sein Engagement für die zahnärztliche Fortbildung in der präventiven Zahnheilkunde sowie für seine interaktive CD-Rom "Prophylaxe Interaktiv".
Ab 2003 Vorlesungen und seit 2006 Lehrauftrag an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf.
Dr. Laurisch ist Autor der Bücher: "Individualprophylaxe - Diagnostik und Therapie des individuellen Kariesrisikos" (Hanser Verlag 1994/2000), "Die Präventive Praxis - Ein Praxiskonzept" (Quintessenzverlag 2001), "Ein Leben lang gesunde Zähne - Ein Buch für Patienten" (2001/2004) sowie der interaktiven CD-Rom "Prophylaxe Interaktiv" (Quintessenz-Verlag 2001).
