José J. Echeverria, MD, DDS, MSc

Dr. Steven Eckert

Dr. Eckert is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Following dental school he completed a General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Chicago. He was certified in Prosthodontics and completed his Master of Science degree at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. Eckert is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. He is a Fellow in the American College of Prosthodontists, Academy of Prosthodontics, Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics and the International Team for Implantology. He is a Consultant in Prosthodontics at the Mayo Clinic and a Professor of Dentistry in the Mayo College of Medicine. He serves as Vice President of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, Immediate Past President of the Academy of Osseointegration and Secretary-Treasurer of the Academy of Prosthodontics. He is an examiner for the American Board of Prosthodontics. He has served in editorial capacities for a variety of prosthodontic journals and is now Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants. He has published extensively in the scientific literature and presents at numerous scientific meetings. His research interests are in the fields of osseointegration and maxillofacial prosthetics.

Born in 1963; 1982-1987 Dental School at the University of Cologne; 1988-1989 dental staff of the German Air Force; 1989 doctoral thesis; 1989-1992 postgraduate training in periodontology at the University of Münster; 1992-2004 Dept. of Conservative Dentisty at the University of Heidelberg, 1995-2004 Clinical Direktor and 2000-2004 Head of the Section of Periodontology; Habilitation (PhD) 1997; Associate Professor 2003; since 2004 Chair of the Dept. of Periodontology at the Centre for Dental, Oral, and Maxillofacial Medicine (Carolinum) at the Hospital of theJohann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt; 1994 specialist for periodontology of the German Society of Periodontology; member of several editorial boards (e.g. Journal of Clinical Periodontology, Dentomaxillofacial Radiology); vicepresident of the New Working Group for Periodontology (NAgP) and board member of the German Society of Periodontology (DGP).

Main interest:
Diagnosis and therapy of furcation involvement, radiographic diagnosis, regenerative periodontal therapy, local antibiotics, long-term results of periodontal treatment and influence of risk factors.

Forschungs-und Arbeitsschwerpunkte:
Adhäsive und ästhetische Zahnheilkunde, Kompositmaterialien, Dentinadhäsive, Lichtpolymerisation; Prophylaxe und Mundhygienehilfsmittel.

Behandlungsschwerpunkte:
Direkte und indirekte adhäsive Versorgungen mit Komposit und Keramik (Inlays, metallfreie Kronen, Teilkronen und Brücken, Veneers), Bleichtechniken vitaler und avitaler Zähne, Prophylaxe

Prof. Dr. Claus-Peter Ernst

Dr. Marco Esposito

Dr. Marco Esposito is Senior Lecturer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Editor of the Cochrane Oral Health Group, Director of the Postgraduate Dental Specialties courses in Dental Implantology (Certificate, Diploma and Masters), School of Dentistry, University of Manchester, UK and Associate Professor in Biomaterials with the Sahlgrenska Academy of Göteborg University, Sweden, and Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Oral Implantology.

Marco graduated with honors in dentistry at the Univesity of Pavia, Italiy in 1990 and was awarded a PhD in Biomaterials from the Göteborg University in 1999. He worked as Guest Researcher at NIOM (Scandinavian Institute of Dental Materials), Haslum, Norway and is a specialist in Periodontics (UK). He authored more than 80 scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals. His main research interests are the assessment of the effectiveness of various therapeutic interventions with particular emphasis on dental implants.
